My Family, My Structure

Although I have a very large extended family, we’ve all drifted apart over the years.  However, I remain very close to my parents, a few select aunts and uncles, my only sister, and my grandmother.  The following is a brief introduction to the people who are important in my life:

My Trinity:  These are the three ladies whom introduced me to the true meaning of being a matriarch.  My maternal grandmother, Nina, paternal grandmother, Freida, and maternal great-grandmother, Ella.  While Grandma Freida is the opidamy of the “Virtuous Woman,” the other two have shown me that even our most profound imperfections can shape us into the most useful tool for teaching our children and families.

My Two Compasses:  My daughter, who is about to turn 16, and my son, who is about to be 3.  They are my greatest purpose in life and keep me pointed in the direction that is the best for all of us.

My Center:  My husband is what reminds me where the circle begins and ends.  He serves as my point of reference when I’m swept away in the storms of raising our children.  He reminds that there is a life that exists beyond them; one that I will someday find myself exiled to.  But by nurturing a life with him now, it will not be a lonely existence when my children have left my nest.

My Calm:  My mother and father are where I escape to when things get too crazy.  Just like a child crawling onto a lap for comfort, a simple phone call with either of them can put my soul at ease.

mmm sounds logical and easy to follow. I’m actually commenting to see what appears. Having just posted the first entry I am a little lost.
